Over the past several months, our company has seen rapid growth at an unprecedented rate. In light of our continuously expanding partner base across Europe and to further support our partners in their increasing demand for cloud solutions, we have been scaling our workforce, too. This time, we are excited to welcome Isabel, Nadina and Andres to our diverse team – three talented individuals coming from three different countries. Read on to get to know them and find out about their interests outside of work.
Isabel Pedro, Cloud Generation Specialist
Hi, I’m Isabel. I was born in Brazil and moved to the Netherlands for love in August last year. Back in Brazil, I did a lot of crazy stuff. At first, it was working in the IT sector and being involved in tech support, graphic and web design. Then I was tired of it all, so I started studying at a culinary university and opened a buffet – it explains the tattoo on my wrist. Then the pandemic hit, and I had to close it and switch to online ordering and delivery of Italian food because I was specialized in it (a part of my dad’s family is entirely Italian). Afterwards, I worked for an American travel company in Brazil. And now here I am in the Netherlands, back to IT.
In my free time, I either do painting or just get on my bike and explore the city with my son. But back in Brazil, I was involved in carnivals, setting up the venue and helping with the parade. I’ve missed it, but I hope to have some festivities and parties here as life slowly gets back to normal.
What three adjectives describe you best?
Funny, open and crazy. If I want to do something, I just do it. I am not the kind of person to think if I should do it or not, or what people would think about me. I don’t have much time to worry about it. As long as you don’t damage anything or hurt people, it’s fine to do whatever you want.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Oh, I love tompouce – that is the best cake ever. When I was in Brazil and wasn’t aware of tompouce, I was completely crazy about pudding, but here I was introduced to tompoce, which changed my life and also, my weight.
If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing for the rest of your life, what would you choose?
Coxinha – Brazilian food! It is a croquette stuffed with chicken coated in batter and breadcrumbs and deep fried. You should try it. Yum-yum!
Nadina Berzina, Channel Account Manager
My name is Nadina. I live in Riga, Latvia. I have two kids, two- and five-year-old boys.
I worked in sales for almost eight years as an agent and as a team leader. Last summer I decided to take a summer break from work, but one month later, I got a job offer on LinkedIn from a vendor and started working as an account manager in cybersecurity. I didn’t have any experience in the field, but they liked my sales skills. TVG, a Pax8 company, was my partner there, and it offered me to join the team later. Apparently, I accepted the offer gladly, and now I’m here.
As to my hobbies, I love baking cakes and reading books. I also have a small business in Latvia – I make and sell diaries and planners. Other than that, I go to the gym two or three times a week. So, my list is almost full: kids, gym, cakes, a full-time job and a private business.
What country best fits your personality?
I feel like I’m not a Latvian because I totally hate winter and cold weather. I relate myself to Turkey because I watch Turkish series, drink tea from those little cups, eat baklava and make dolma. I have never been to Turkey, but I need to go there.
If you could meet anyone in this world today, who would you meet?
The day before yesterday, I went to the movies to watch Lost City. Channing Tatum, my childhood actor, stars in it. He made me laugh till I cried throughout the movie. But in my opinion, he does not fit that role. So, I would like to meet him and ask him how he chooses his roles.
What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?
Don’t be sad about the things that you can’t change because there will be better things in the future.
Andres Sanchez, Cloud Generation Specialist
My name is Andres. I’m half-Romanian and half-Colombian. I moved to the Netherlands two years ago, and I currently live in Zwolle.
This is my first professional experience in the IT industry, which is completely different from what I’ve done before. Previously, my career had been focused on customer experience and customer success. I decided to join the IT field because it’s not only the future but also the present – it’s here to stay.
In my spare time, I enjoy going to football matches or to the movies, and I also like walking.
What is the most interesting place you’ve ever been to?
Lake Guatavita, located in Colombia. It’s believed to be the source of the El Dorado legend. I’d recommend everyone to visit it not only because of its history but also because the local tour guides are one of the last surviving members of the Colombian indigenous tribe. They offer a whole, deep experience as that’s their roots – they tell you stories about their religious beliefs and gods, how they used to worship and perform various rituals.
If you could talk to one species of animal, which would you choose?
Golden retriever, hands down! I have a golden retriever, and sometimes I have a real, deep conversation with my dog, and I get annoyed that he doesn’t respond to me.
Suppose that there are now 25 hours in a day. How would you spend your extra hour?
By sleeping! If you bring me a pillow right now, I’ll be out in five minutes.
